Mailchimp has announced that starting February 14, 2024, Mailchimp Transactional Emails (Mandrill) will be enforcing new 'Sending Domain' authentication requirements that will require you to make updates to the DNS records on the domain that you use to send emails through LFM.
Making these updates will require logging into your domain host, updating your sending domain’s DNS records, and then verifying that the records are correct.
These updates must be made and verified by 2/14/23.
Important Note: These updates can take time, so it is important to do them as soon as possible to avoid interruptions. They will not impact your Mailchimp Marketing email integration.
They must be made and verified by 2/14/23 to ensure that emails sent through LFM are delivered.
If you would like LFM Support to update the records on your behalf, please submit a ticket to support@Localfoodmarketplace.com with your domain host name and login information:
1. Domain Host Login (email or login)
2. Domain Host Password
Instructions for DNS updates:
1. Enable DKIM
DKIM is a DNS-based email authentication mechanism that helps Mailchimp Transactional Emails more effectively send mail on your behalf by allowing receivers to verify that we have permission to send your email.
To enable DKIM:
1. Create two CNAME records: one with the name mte1._domainkey. yourdomain.com* with the value dkim1.mandrillapp.com, and another with the name mte2._domainkey. yourdomain.com* and the value dkim2.mandrillapp.com
2. Enable DMARC
A DMARC policy is an authentication protocol that can be added to your domain to help protect against fraud and increase deliverability.
To enable DMARC:
1. Create and save a TXT record in your DNS with a host of _dmarc.yourdomain.com* and a value of v=DMARC1; p=none
If you're updating these records yourself, please contact LFM Support once they've been updated so that we can confirm that they're validating properly.
